This group is for anyone who helps or looks after a relative, friend or neighbour because of their illness or disability (whether that be physical, psychiatric, temporary or long term). We would love to be able to offer you a bit more support in the important work you are doing. Caring for someone can make you become or feel very isolated, and often others in a similar position are best placed to understand the emotional and practical difficulties you face. As a Christian, there can be additional guilt about how you feel or cope. Praying regularly for those who come, who they care for and others we know of or who request it is an important part of this group. We meet in the Extension at St Thomas’ Church, with an informal café style time for tea, coffee and cakes. A chance to chat, meet others, or simply have some time to feel looked after yourself. Then we move into smaller groups so we can pray for you and the people you care for. Everyone is welcome, the group is free (donations welcome if you wish) and we have people available as a sitting service if needed who can meet you before the group to get to know the person they will be sitting with. Dates for the group will be published in Sunday morning news sheets and in care4T? leaflets. Upcoming meetings: Next meeting will be May 10th 2-3.30pm. An afternoon just for you! Friendship, support, information and even a bit of fun. How often do you get time for yourself? We want to make it happen for you! Hampshire Carers Together will be visiting with information, and there will be an opportunity to join in a strategy game (eg chess), have your nails painted or complete a art/craft activity. Plus the usual cafe with drinks and cakes, and the offer of prayer for you and those you care for. After the May meeting, care4T? will be launching monthly meetings on the first Saturday of each month from 2-3.30pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
