Michael and Fran Cohen

David and Diana first met Michael Cohen at a day conference Michael was speaking at in Christ Church Guildford, Surrey in 1996, and a firm friendship was begun.

 

Michael was then working as South Eastern Regional Coordinator for The Church's Ministry Among Jewish People, and came to Fair Oak several times to teach about the Jewish Roots of our faith, lead Passover Meals and give some teaching for the Summer Camp in 1998.

 

David and Diana then accompanied Michael and Fran on an organised 10 day visit to Israel in 1997

 

When Michael & Fran moved out to Israel to take to take up the post of Rector Christ Church Jerusalem, it was with a real sense of being 'sent out' by believers in the UK, and in particular the congregations that are St Thomas Fair Oak.

 

Since Michael and Fran left their position at Christ Church Jerusalem, the link between them and St Thomas became, we believe, more strategic,

 

- we are seen by them as a principal Prayer Partner Church in England

 

- we see them as being 'our eyes and ears in the Middle East'

 

- we see them as a resource to help us as a congregation interpret the 'signs of the times' in the light of Biblical prophecy

 

- they see us as being part of their 'root system' in the UK
