Regular Giving / Tithing

We believe in the principle of tithing and as a church we give away 10% of our income to mission partners as part of our commitment to this biblical principle. Giving away 10% of your income is a big commitment, especially in these financially difficult times, but we do feel it is the standard of giving that we should seek to follow.

The upkeep of the buildings, the staff salaries and the ongoing ministry of St. Thomas' Church costs in excess of £300,000 per year. These costs are covered by generous giving by the members of St. Thomas' Church. If you consider St. Thomas' Church your spiritual home perhaps you would consider contributing financially to this work.

Parish Giving Scheme packs are also available at all services.

One-off gifts
There are opportunities to practice generosity through one off giving. We hold a regular Gift Day in July and there are ongoing opportunities to give to mission partners, the Youth Network (which funds our internship programme), ARK and the planned St Thomas' Church Centre. Please contact the office for details of how to give to these ministries.

Legacy Policy
St. Thomas' welcomes gifts in wills, however large or small. We will use gifts to make a difference to the work of the church (e.g. by funding development projects in the parish, such as buildings, equipment or staff). We will consult with the executors to identify the sorts of projects the donor would have liked.
