GIVING THANKS FOR GOD’S GRACE.
We thank the Lord for:
• Work in the schools: Francis spoke in 4 classes in the Lycée des Apprentis Orphelins d’Auteuil. From now on, Diane will be going into Saint Jean Baptiste de La salle primary school (where our children Ben and Kyria are) every fortnight. At the request of the headmistresses, during break time there is a time of worship for the children and some ‘thoughts’ shared from the Bible. Our two interns from BLESS Jo and Sarah come to help lead this.
• Living Waters Week-end: It was wonderful to work again with Werner and Charlotte. God has been faithful and lots of hearts were touched. This course has been a real encouragement for us.
• Trip to England: All went well and God gave us his grace to speak at two services in St Luke’s and at an evening with some of the PCC and Mission Committee.
• Work in the ‘connect ’café : It has advanced well and we hope to finish this room in the next week so that we can start our next Alpha course there. It has taken a bit more time that originally anticipated but nevertheless is advancing well.
• The Consecration Service: The church was full and amongst our guests we had 7 evangelical, protestant pastors, as well as several leaders from the Baptist association and some catholic friends. The ceremony unfolded with a lovely ambiance. And Francis is now officially a Baptist pastor!!!
.
SUBJECTS OF PRAYER
Building project file : A committee has been formed to work on the building file. As we try to go ahead with the idea of buying the church premises. The banks are in the process of being re-contacted and work on several ideas has been started. Pray for the communication with the banks and with the owner.
A new Alpha course: It will start on 5th May and has the aim of coming alongside the newcomers to get to know them better and to see where they are at. It should involve at least 6 non-Christians about 20 of us in total. Pray for the children as they ’babysit’ themselves!
Jour J worship evening on the 16th May and the conference: pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit and refreshment for those who come on the 16th May. Second part of the evening is a youth event. Pray also for the conference’s organisation In July 22nd to 25th. www.jour-j-normandie.fr
South African Team: They will be with us for two days and are primarily an intercession team.
Training for kid’s workers: A Saturday of training planned for the kid’s workers with Richard and Annabelle Blackaby from The Family Trust at the end of May to help train and encourage the children’s workers here.
That’s all for now. Thank you so much for your prayers.Lots of love and blessings,
Francis & Diane
