"Facilitating the Emerging Church”

The Courts of Worship that meet at Wyvern Technology College consist:

(1) Home:  This is set out in the Foyer, with live DVD feed from the main hall for Mums and Dads and little ones who can enjoy warm fellowship together as the main service is taking place, whilst enjoying coffee and the ability for the children to express themselves more fully!!

(2) Flight Deck: normally meets in the Nursery Block. This is a Court of Worship designed to help children from school age - Reception to Year 6 - grow in their faith together, as they participate and explore the Bible.  A devoted team of adult leaders, together with assistance from parents, gives Flight Deck a unique place in our church life!  Flight Deck joins the adult Court of Worship once a month on the first Sunday for Family Communion. Every other month is a Flight Deck Event in the Main Hall!

(3) Rock Solid:  As part of the Youth Network, Rock Solid meets in the Gym for exuberant rock based worship, Bible teaching and ministry.  Interaction with the adult congregation occurs for family communion once a month and, again, is led by a devoted team of leaders.

(4) FOCUS: Years 10-13 meet in Windows on Wyvern cafe for an “unplugged worship set”, with good coffee and bible-teaching in a relaxed, discussion-based style. Some of our adult bible teachers seek to inspire leadership skills in these guys as they emerge as leaders themselves.

(5) Emerge: Meet in the Main Hall and primarily exists to resource and service the leadership of Home, Flight Deck, Rock Solid and GAP, so as to enable the emerging church to truly emerge!  We swap with Flight Deck every other month to enable them to meet in the Main Hall and ourselves in the Nursery Block, to again encourage the emerging church to expand.  The best way for ongoing resourcing for the emerging church is for the adults to be consistently fed on the Word of God and filled with the Holy Spirit.

We consider that communication of the Zion vision is key to enabling people to find their place in ministry, and therefore the service pattern is as follows: (please click here for explanation of the Zion Vision). The foyer area sets out each week the key communication points in Zion.
